Sky Protocol becomes the first stablecoin issuer rated by both Moody's and S&P Global, marking a milestone in crypto credit assessment.
Sky Protocol has become the first stablecoin protocol to receive issuer credit ratings from both Moody's Ratings and S&P Global, a development that signals growing institutional acceptance of decentralized finance infrastructure. Moody's assigned the protocol a B3 issuer rating with a stable outlook, according to an announcement from Sky Frontier Foundation, the Cayman Islands-based entity behind the project.
The B3 designation places Sky Protocol in speculative-grade territory on Moody's scale, reflecting the inherent risks associated with crypto-native financial protocols while simultaneously acknowledging the project's structural legitimacy. A stable outlook suggests Moody's does not anticipate an imminent rating change in either direction.
