Freshworks to Join S&P SmallCap 600 Index on Oct. 8
Freshworks will replace BioLife Solutions in the S&P SmallCap 600, effective before trading opens October 8.
Freshworks Inc. (FRSH) is set to enter the S&P SmallCap 600 index when markets open Thursday, October 8, displacing BioLife Solutions Inc. (BLFS), according to an announcement released Monday.
The index change is being driven by an acquisition: Repligen Corp. (RGEN), currently a constituent of the S&P MidCap 400, is purchasing BioLife Solutions. That deal triggers BioLife's removal from the SmallCap 600, opening a slot for Freshworks to move in.

Index reconstitutions of this kind typically prompt near-term trading activity, as funds that track the S&P SmallCap 600 are required to adjust their holdings to mirror the new composition before the market open on the effective date.
